Debit Card Courtesy Overdraft Protection

Stay Protected

Don’t get caught in a sticky situation! We want to protect you from the embarrassment and inconvenience of a declined debit card or ATM transaction. You could be at a gas station late at night or purchasing groceries for the week and your debit card could be declined if you do not have enough money in your account. These charges could be covered if you are opted-in to First Federal’s Debit Card Courtesy Overdraft Protection.

Federal regulations governing overdraft protection programs go into effect August 15, 2010. These new regulations pertain to overdraft charges associated with your everyday debit card and ATM transactions. Please note that this opt-in rule applies only to debit and ATM transactions and does not pertain to overdraft protection services associated with written checks or recurring debit transactions (such as regularly scheduled bill payments). For you to see no change in your coverage, you will need to opt-in to First Federal’s Debit Card Courtesy Overdraft Protection.

If you do not opt-in to First Federal’s Debit Card Courtesy Overdraft Protection program, then effective August 15, 2010, your everyday debit card and ATM transactions could be declined on the spot, should you not have sufficient funds in your account at that time. Opt-in today to ensure you're covered!
